why would anyone try to kill ya?
if we can just get you to buy a good set of tools and get a little confidence about working on the ram (with our help when you get stuck) then you'll be able to get it fixed.

well this is way late and cheat probably won't see it, but for the passenger side grab handle - look close and you'll see a little plastic cover in the base of the handle. remove that with a small screwdriver and you'll see about a 10mm or less bolt that holds the handle on - tighten it up, replace the little cover, and you're done.

Just wanna bump this one up so that it is more visible. Moved it here from the 2nd gen tech forum. I think more folks will find it here.

I've thought about cleaning mine, even get as far as opening the hood, then I see everything I gotta take off to get it out, then there goes that idea.....

My 97 5.9L started having problems with low speed idle so I pulled the throttle body this weekend to clean it and check out the plenum. This is the first time I've had the throttle body off.

Ramman18's write-up was very useful and it turned out to be a relatively easy job. I took padodgeram's suggestion and just removed the cable bracket from the TB rather than try to disconnect the three cables from the bracket. It was easy to remove the three bolts attaching the bracket to the TB, and I wanted to avoid breaking one of the plastic clips holding the cables to the bracket.

My IAC was filthy as expected, and since it may very well have been OE I just bought a new one from Autozone for ~$35 and replaced it. A good cleaning of everything along with the new IAC solved the idle problem.

I'm also happy to say I didn't see any evidence of a leaking plenum. Yay.

Cleaned mine up today...also went the route of disconnecting the linkage mount from the TB.
I had a little metallic blue high temp paint in the shop so I decided while the TB was all nice and clean i'd paint it up. The TB was in my hands in 10 min. or less...ofcourse cleaning it up took a bit longer
