i drove my 81 around and spent a lot more money than i wanted. bought 6qts of royal purple for after i fix the plenum and 4qts of coolant. i did save $15 off all of this stuff tho. got 3 coupons for $5 off. still need to spend another $20 on a RP oil filter. going to be the most expensive oil change i have ever done.

why not. any good quality filter for synthetic oil is about $10-$15 so what is another couple $ if it protects my engine and possibly helps me get better gas mileage. i know from what i have seen the filters are built tough. i think you put one under 300psi of pressure and the thing wont blow up.

i know. my whole oil change normally doesn't even cost $20. lately it seems like the cheaper filters have been creaping up in price. i think the last wix filter cost me $6 or $7. i think i saw a place in the city that might have had them cheaper but i think it would have still cost me about $15 plus gas to get there. i am planning on driving my ramcharger at least 10k-15k km on the royal purple oil before i even consider changing it so hopefully it works out.

I'm running a purolator synthetic oil filter I got from Advance with a gift card. And some cheapo Napa synthetic oil....

Anywho, tonight I took the Ram out, really the first night drive since I installed the new headlights/PIAA Extreme White Bulbs and added the 100W off road lights.

I need to put the headlights on relays!

Adjusted my off road lights a tad, and discovered some scratches on the truck while getting tools out;

I've got no idea how that happened, I haven't hit anything, and to my knowledge I haven't been hit.

Sucks too, that one on the top of the door is deep, that ***** gonna rust

I go to a local shop I used to work at. They use reasonable quality filters, and decent dino oil, and.... it's cheaper for me to PAY them to do it, than it is for me to do it myself. I sit and read a book, or watch the news for half an hour, instead of crawl around under my truck.

my dad keeps telling me that is what you have kids. so when you get old they can change the oil for you. pretty much every oil on done on his truck was done in my driveway. don't take that long.

I put some new OEM fog lights on today to replace the old, cracked yellowing ones. Easy enough to do.
I also put on a Billet aLuminum gas door, that was more challenging than it should have been thanks to me breaking off my torx head in the screw head...broke out the drill and a 3/4 inch bit and drilled that bitch out. And the toughest job of all, I got a new dodge ram license plate frame for the front All parts thanks to ebay!
