What Did You Do To Your 2ND GEN RAM Today?
My drivers mirror folded in really easy. They do not have good quality towing mirrors for my rig (electric also) so, I have been searching for a quality upgrade. I put some mirrors on that were extensions for towing. Nothing special, under $50 bucks. They stuck out and caught air, causing the drivers side mirror to fold under pressure.
I went to the wrecking yard and picked up a replacement drivers side electric mirror. It was easy to remove (no panel on the wrecking yard truck). I took it home with no guarantee it would work and because it was an electrical part.
I pulled the door panel (without snapping any plastic screws) and screws. I pulled the 3 nuts holding the mirror and the foam that keep the wind down. Popping the plastic grommet and electrical wire out of the way, it was quick work to replace the mirror.
Snapped everything back together and installed the 3 screws in the panel. Checking the electrical in the doors, mirror and adjusting the new added mirrors, everything seemed to work just great! Now I can legally tow my new trailer.

Looks like you have a power lok (different gears):

Here is just one option for a case spreader. I would think it could be made fairly simple.

I am trying to remember what I did when I was building axles all the time. It may come to me later but, if I were you, I would try to rent one first.

if you make one, ill buy one! i need one to put the carrier back in my d70! i still need to get the 3/4 ton suspension, and figure out the driveshaft issue.
They were using a mop.
Never saw that in my few years of driving, but it was pretty funny.
