I got more than 1 axle to use it for and not just my pair. Building one will certainly outweigh buying or renting one.

Here is just one option for a case spreader. I would think it could be made fairly simple.

I am trying to remember what I did when I was building axles all the time. It may come to me later but, if I were you, I would try to rent one first.

We'll see broham. Putting the carrier in with the right preload is very important. The difference b/t a carrier deflecting and going boom to one that is solid. I've seen the unfortunate demise of a carrier (ARB in fact) when it was not shimmed properly, just dropped in. Lost the whole carrier and R/P. Not mine though! hahahah

Guessing nobody noticed I been gone for a few months since I don't post much but just celebrated 16th anniversary owning my 97 by finally putting in the Hughes plenum kit I picked up a couple years ago. I will get the pics up in the plenum thread one of these days but don't think mine was all that bad. I did notice a little difference and now that its done I can replace my original cat with the new magnaflow cat that just showed up.

Buyer came out today and we pulled the bed off the 97 to make removal of the rear end easier. He took the leaf springs as well.

Agreed. Look how clean that frame is. You can tell he doesn't live in New England.

Seriously, that is a nice looking truck. What was wrong with it? That is sad.

Ran a Seafoam treatment today... getting ready to change the kegger for an FI Airgap this week.
Got a box full of goodies ready to go... water pump, thermostat, timing set, plugs, injectors, throttle body, FI Airgap, gaskets and new sensors.

I must say, the old girl had a bit more get up and go after the Seafoam treatment... after 160k and two blown plenums, I guess it was needed.
