thanks. that is on the 81. the only thing that sucks is i am going to take it all apart at a future point in time to repaint the sides of the engine block. i was not able to get all the oil and grease removed and right now i just really need to get this done.

Ehh well it keeps ya busy right? :-P What is it you're doin to the 81, just cleanin the motor up and makin it look pretty ?
i guess. it started out as a small exhaust leak and turned into trying to make the engine look nicer. i think i have only spent $48 on paint so far and about $20 on sand.

Ahh I see! I wish I was as ambitious as you are. For that price its lookin great so far man!
Installed the 87 tune off my new superchips 3815 I finally got today. Best 150 bucks I've ever spent on a vehicle upgrade.
Superchips is a nice little tuner for basic mods even better it gets that damn death flash outa the computer... be prepared for pinging if you haven't done plenum yet

I was already pinging intermittently at idle. If I came to a stop too long, sometimes it would start idling rough (sounded like an aftermarket exhaust, except shaking and running like crap) I'd have to blip the throttle otherwise if I tried to floor it it would have no power and ping until it caught up. Runs smooth as a bowling ball now, of course I have to run it a week or two and see if it still happens.
The tune in and of itself is totally worth it for the performance change... Once I finish modifying my truck (and getting around 25 mpg) I'll be able to switch it to 91 octane tune and still run it on 87 without ping. Gonna be sweet!
I do believe my plenum still needs done. I never did it... so it probably isn't done. I hear a sucking sound from my engine compartment, but when I get out to check it it sounds like it's coming from the top of the throttle body... I cleaned it out and put a new IAC in so I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be hearing it since I put a 14x3... I watched guys sink 1800 bucks into trying to fix that idle power loss, I'm hoping the stock tune had something to do with it. I really don't care if it does, I'll live with it... No big deal to blip on the throttle a couple times.
Thread title change. And from now on that's all this thread is for. Not how, when , where , why, etc..... Any other gibberish will be deleted. Thanks guys.
Filled my jerry can up, dropped another 20L of fuel in it. $26 for 20L of 91 octane ethanol free. Brings my total to $140 in fuel used to idle it while it sits. Hopefully I don't idle it all away before it goes back on the road
