if you can't stall a standard transmission on take off can you really consider it a standard transmission?

i took my 81 for drive for the first time since i bought my ram charger. hauled 3 loads of dirt for my brother-in-law. seemed to drive great. i forgot how smooth everything worked. the only problem i had was cleaning out all the tool and garbage that had accumulated from it sitting.

^^ Yes. Because you are still in complete control of the clutch. Like Jig said, its the motor that the computer plays with to keep running, not the clutch. In the case of a diesel, it makes a lot of sense, since frequent startup and shut down is so hard on them.

minus the axle, the truck will damn near have a completely new front end..

Changed my rear end gear lube, it's been 500 miles. And wouldn't you know, I had not quite enough to fill it. Got enough in it to get to the auto parts store tomorrow though.

Filled her up and calculated my mileage on the last tank. It was right at 13.2.... it will vary between 11 and 13 depending on the driving style
