Today I pulled the dash apart, connected a ground I missed before, connected the heater core anti-electrolysis strap (also missed before), and replaced sections of 4 wires that went to the cluster. They were smashed between the steering column and it's mounting frame. I must have been really tired when I re-assembled it last week. Now everything works as it should. I also put in a new stereo deck that I got for free.

Bumper looks good! And glad you got the electrical issue resolved!

I plan to at least start collecting parts soon, but the more I think about it, the more I want to just rebuild the whole axle when I do it... I was planning on a gear swap anyway... so I will probably slowly be collecting things like ball joints, u-joints, seals, bearings, brake stuff, and everything to rebuild the diff and then knock it all out at once... sounds good on paper at least

i replaced the transmission mount on my 81 today. it is so nice not hearing it bang every time you give it some gas. i now also have the peace of mind that the mount is being held to the transmission with 2 bolts instead of just 1. it looks like the someone had stripped a couple thread out of the one hole but i was able to get a bolt to thread in there without too much headache.

lol. i just wish i had found the mounts with the inserts before i bought the one without. i think it could have lasted a lot longer but the noise it was making was annoying. at least now it has all new motor and transmission mounts and i know what they all feel and sound like when they go bad.

Ran a load of scrap. Made $285. Combined weight of 8780 lbs. In an 8800 lb GVWR truck. I was satisfied with the performance of the truck loaded to it's legal limit

You should be fined $250 for misuse of the apostrophe.
