Yea... I am pondering whether my input shaft would swap into a DHD 241. I think it would, and that would be a cool upgrade. So would a 1st gen Cummins married 205... but I don't think the 205 input would match my 23 spline trans output. Also the low range isn't as low (241's are 2.72:1, while 205's are 1.96:1). It would be indestructible though.

Also doesn't the 205 in the 1st gens have the front drive shaft run along the pass. side vs the drivers side on the 241?? Don't know what you could do about that

Reading about and seeing pictures of all the transfer case destruction really makes me glad I've only got 2wd!
