Put it in the 3rd gen section and you'll get better answers...but we have a 02' 1500 w/ the 4.7 also. All it has is a K&N drop in air filter and everything else is stock. Tires I believe are 265/75/16 or 18? and it usually gets 11.9-12.3 driving in town/highway. Don't expect too much from a 4.7 with those big of tires unless your gunna regear for them tires. Anybody wanna add their .02?

My dad has an 02, stock, 265/70/17 tires, gets 15 on the highway. Sometimes 16, but the highway we travel on is 75, so that's at 75mph.

On ethanol-free gas (Okkie gas), at 65mph, we can see 19.

It's 2WD though.

Welcome to DF. You got s biga$$ truck with biga$$ tires and a little 4.7. Your rated mileage aint that great to start with. Try posting in the 3rd gen Ram tech section to see if they also different advise. Also, ditch the throttle body spacer. It is worthless.

I probably will.

I just don't want to because it's my baby. I would hate to hurt it, since it's so extremely nice. If I dent it or scrape the paint or something tomorrow I will be angry for weeks. If I took my '95 I wouldn't have anything to worry about.

Throttle body spacer does nothing for you.

"What Did You Do To Your RAM Today?"....

I decided to keep my '98 and trade off my '08 hemi crew cab 1/2 ton ram for a '12 Jeep Grand Cherokee for the wife and kid. Sorry to see the hemi go, but the Jeep is way nicer and more kid friendly.

I'm curious why you kept the older RAM?
  • Parting with the one with the most trade-in value?
  • Keeping the most reliable?
  • ...Most practical?
  • Sentimental value?
  • ???
