Hey does anyone know how to change the clutch slave cylinder in a 94 Nissan Hardbody 4x4 with a 2.4L? The rod/spring that go from slave to transmission keeps popping out and loosing fluid when the fin on the tranny goes back....i got the slave for the truck i know its the right one.

But it seems like the rod isnt long enough even though its the same size as the old one...

When we tried bleeding it, when we pump the clutch the rod comes out to far and goes crooked and leaks out the fluid...its supposed to be a simple swap then bleed out right? .any help would be great

clutch shot? or bent clutch fork maybe?? it does sound like the rod is too short, letting the piston come out too far...

well im going to weld a 1/4in piece to the end i guess so it will prevent the grommet from popping out of the slave..........its only comming out like 1/8 to a 1/4 inch to much....not enough to where it can fall off, but to where a corner will pop out and go sideways...its comming out just a little to much.......and the clutch and everything is fine it has 80K...i drove it last week when we were mudding together, and the clutch engages almost immidiatly after you let off the peddle, and it never grinded, never smelled the clutch. What happened was the old ones o-ring was shot and it was leaking fluid. but i cant just buy the oring, i had to get the whole thing. (slave)

If you had asked me about 2 years ago i coulda told you right then an there how to do it, but iv learned so much about nissan it kinda just overlaps. I did mine on my hardbody and it only took me about an hour to do it and it was a direct swap so theres something else going on there if it's being that big of a pain in the ***.

is the wing on the tranny supposedto go all the way back (away from Slave) without much resistance? i can move it all the way forward and back with my hand. When its all the way back is when its a bit to much and it goes crooked.

no need to fix the problem in a place it doesnt need fixed, especially not being your vehicle....need to find and solve the real problem
