The Official 2nd Gen RAM Forum OT thread
I'm the one on CF that suggested to meet at the Red Horse Dinner. My 3rd Gen is pretty stock right now other than a level lift & 35" tires. Hopefully here in the next year or so I'll have some extra funds to throw some funds at it. 1st on the long list is a built tranny so that it will handle the power from any mods I do to the engine.
Had a Secret Santa thing at work this year. I had a guy who likes cars and stuff, but not a mechanic by any means. I took the old cam and harmonic balancer from my old motor and made this little guy for him!
About 2 days ago this 3rd Gen Dodge ram 1500 rolled up into the loading yard at my workplace. Each time he hit the gas it sounded like the engine had a crappy installed turbo. So me and my coworkers went over to this truck to see what exactly this guy did to his truck. And the owner of the truck said "It had a little work done to it". When we got a little bit closer to this contraption the turbo started to sound like a squeaking serpentine belt. We also noticed that the engine was bogging and struggling for back pressure. One of my coworkers went and looked under the truck for exhaust modification and found the most stupidest thing. This nugget literally went to Walmart and bought 3 whistles (The same thing PE teachers and football Coaches use). He had all 3 of them clamped there somehow. He also ported the exhaust so that air only blows through the whistles. We were all kinda in shock that someone would do this to there truck to achieve a somewhat whistle. While me and the other drivers made our way back to our delivery trucks we couldn't help but to laugh at this guy try to crank his truck up for nearly 10 minutes and barely drive off the lot. The next package hell be picking up from the center will be another motor for his truck and 3 more whistles to replace the melted ones...
