He's just too lazy to mod a V8 is what it is.

Apples to oranges again I see.

If diesels are the way to go, why don't manufactures offer only diesels and tell the EPA to shove it?

Mine only has 126K, barely broke in yet. Most 460s make 300K with ease, there's one with 2 million miles out there (original FORD AUTO tranny too!), one of my friends has 390K on his 460, etc...

Btw, the 460 will beat a STOCK DuraMax hands down in fuel economy. Our friend has a 2008 DuraMax diesel, 1 ton dually. Towing 8500lbs, the DuraMax got 4-6MPG. Towing 18,000lbs with our 460 we got 6-8MPG. Probably would have gotten a little more except we were not using overdrive. On the highway without a trailer, he gets 8-9MPG, our 460 gets 12MPG, unwavering no matter how hard you are on it. However, if he modded his duramax, he'd get way better fuel economy and power than the 460 would stock. I've even got 4.56 gears on it. Lol. As far as life goes, well, might be a little competition there... I'm not bashing on your truck Jig don't get me wrong. Lol.
