in 1998 they became an option.
I was told that you could get the one out of a Caravan or a newer dodge and that the connectors are the same. I never did try it.
mine has a cassette player. In our early 2nd gens you could get a disc changer But you had to have an external unit that connected to the radio wirelessly or something like that. Never have seen one. It's in my owners manual.

I'm not too impressed with the Infinity system. Our 00 grand caravan has it and it's much worse than our trucks sound system. Maybe it just isn't working right. Can't hear any bass, sounds terribly tinny, always has.

Wanna get rid of it? The head unit currently in my truck doesn't work at all.
Dunno if it was a good idea or not, it didn't cause any thing to act weird.
I do miss those little sliders though, it so old school but i love it lol
I have never had anything leak from it, idk what hes talking about haha
