I went and pushed my the o/d off button. I never payed any attention to it before and didn't even realize it says off right on it. Don't ask about the button next to it. It was like that when I got it. I wonder what it's for? Sorry for the big pics. I don't have time to make them smaller right now.

 

That would have been for foglights.

Someone drilled it out for a toggle switch. I did that in mine.

 

Hey snowboundrmk, where did you get that cd/tape combo for that?

 

I stay in OD because after leaving the driveway it's 60 mph plus, I take it out at our only town 11 miles away (push square button light comes on). Push it when I leave till light goes out. In OD I run 2,100 RPM's at 70 mph on the interstate in this 97. I'm 33's w/3.55 gears. All shifts are normal. I do not tow with this truck.

I only tow with the 99 diesel (it's on the stick and push once or twice for off/on). K.

Tried the 97 tonight from bottom of drive and OD/off light was shorting up the hill........been shifting fine in OD (check it tomorrow)

 

Neither of those light up for me.

 

It came with it. Isn't it original?

 

Not that I'm aware of. My old 95 only had the tape player as welland it was the highest model you could get. My guess is its out of a newer ram?

 

That was an option in '98, but could have also been available on earlier years.
Between us, we should be able to narrow it down.
