A friend of mine used to do that for a living (82nd. Airborne).
He had a bad jump one time. When he stepped out of the door his riser got hung up and caught the side of his face and cut his cheek then made him slam into the side of the plane before pulling his chute out. The plane is slowed down to 150mph when they jump.
When he landed he didn't get the tuck and roll quite right. It's supposed to be feet/side of the knee/hip/shoulder to make a nice fluid roll without injury. Instead he did feet/butt/head a couple times. He ended up breaking a runway light with his head and the battery pack for his radio with his tail bone.
He wasn't too happy that day.
I can't remember if that's the time his chute failed and he had to pull his reserve or not.

Why would anyone want to jump out of a perfectly good aircraft? That is just.... unnatural.

Hell of an adrenaline rush, isn't it? Glad you enjoyed it.

Why? cause we're crazy.

Hell yea it is! The adrenaline didn't kick in until I pulled the rip cord though and I think that's because even though I knew I was falling from 12,000 feet, I'm kinda use to the whole floating/falling/whatever you wanna call it because I have a decent amount of time in a wind tunnel so I'm use to "falling" but when that chute deployed it was like, "OMG, I really did jump out of a plane...now I gotta get to the ground" lol.

I went and looked at a '67 Dodge Dart sedan with a 318 yesterday. Guy wants $2750, I'm gonna offer him $2500.

Abortion? I call it trail ready, aside from needing a conversion u-joint for the front axle.

No I don't, but I would drive it too. That thing looks like it's ready to beat up any trail you could throw it on.

It just sounded like a street queen to me. If you really look close at the bumbers and goofy side steps its just butt jointed square tubing. I'll admit it has potential, but its definitely no bruiser. Just looked kinda hacked.
