Found the perfect little ride for the wife, perfect price too.

Forget the year, but it's a Mazda 4dr car, 5spd, $1k.

Body is in great shape, interior is nice, didn't check under the hood. Problem is 1) Dude didn't leave a frickin phone number 2) I'd have to teach the wife how to drive a manual transmission.

what is with you and fords?!

you know a mazda is just a ford in disguise right?

prime example...mazda B series pickup and ford ranger are EXACTLY THE SAME! (other than exterior badging) however the motor says ford right on it!

I absolutely hate trying to teach people how to drive stick... Best example of it was when I got my CDL.. I went through a course here and it was me and another guy in the truck along with the instructor. First ride out I impressed the instructor with my ability to drive a truck.. Didnt care to tell him I had driven rigs before though..

Then when it came time for the other fella to drive he was drenched with sweat before he even got the truck started... The instructor asked what was wrong and he said " I have never driven stick in my 30 years of driving." The instructor said well everyone has to learn at some point... This guy was able to pick it up enough to get the truck moving and stopped but it sure wasnt pretty... There was no advice to give him on how to improve.. The final straw that made me refuse to ride in the truck with him was when we came to a dead stop in the middle of the highway... His excuse was just mind blowing... He said " I saw the sign that said the off ramp was 40mph and I just kept missing gears so I stopped" and the instructor layed into him with words I cant say on here.... What was so mind blowing though was the fact that we werent getting off the highway... It was a split to head off east on Rt.322 and we were going straight on down I83...

I had a 1996 Mazda Protege I wish I'd never traded. It was a great car.

My current Mazda 3 is a fun little car.

The Protege wasn't a Ford car, even though Mazda is a Ford brand. Good cars though.

They didn't just buy a Ford motor either. It's got the whole Ford shebanga of tranny and engine.

Well, look at the Geo Prizm, a toyota corrola under a different brand name. Toyota is not a GM brand.... or the Geo Tracker. A Suzuki.... again, not a GM brand.

Car companies cooperate on various projects as suits them. There is no implied ownership going either direction.

Ford Probe was just a rebadged Mazda as well. Though Mazda didn't have a comparable car in their line up....
