When gas was at $1.17L people were out doing things, spending money. We go back to this $1.34L + price its going to slow all that down. A good portion of our tourists are from Alberta there gas is at $1.10L approx. us at $1.34L + will keep them at home. Going backwards again dumb F****.
Edit: I can only imagine what marine gas down at the docks will be again this year $1.70L+.

But the oil companies are still posting record profits every quarter...... Go Figure.
Thank god they get the subsidies and tax refunds in the BILLIONS (more than they pay in...) or they would have to struggle like a small business to make a profit!
Well we started to flood, say goodbye to the lower part of the campground for a week or two. I just hope its the reg yearly flood and not like last years.

is your campground on a river, or what? never heard of a campground flooding before. least not around here.

Yes we are along the Eagle River 2.5 km from the lake. Part of the campground is 6' lower than the rest so when the river swells it floods. We flood most years but over the last two at the wrong time of year and much more than the normal.
My goal is to start looking for free fill for that area, but lots of red tape to go though as we are by the river so clean mud/sand fill only.
Pix of last year's flooding, this is well after the flood cleaning up, it was level with the bush tops.
The Eagle River, normal level.
Todays pix will be posted later on.

thats nuts! we had some flooding around here, but nothing "bad" since 2006-2007. its been extremely dry here as of late. finally got some rain in the past couple days. but the fire danger was the highest it could go. though my seasonal permit never got banned, and i could still have fires in my pit, as it was considered a "camp fire".
