Ya you don't. Can you even get a ford or gm with one? Also why does the 98+ 5.9s have more power?

Ford doesn't sell any manuals on their HD trucks, I know some 1/2 tons via Ford can get a maual, IDK about GM.

Different PCM programming and a different cam shaft IIRC.

Well, yeah. But different PCM programming too, since you can have and OBD1 PCM with one program, and an OBD2 PCM with that same program.

Read that page it automatically goes to. If you notice they used two different types of PCMs in 1998, 1998.5 being the changing point for both the 24valve diesel and the Magnum PCMs. That's why many tuners don't support pre 1998 Magnums as they use a different computer. That's also why there is no performance Mopar PCM for the Magnum V8s after 1997 (until the Hemi replaced the Magnum).
