During the spring/summer/fall i get 17 - 20 MPG. Winter it get 14 - 17 MPG. No mods that would effect MPG.

Another thing that may play a role in your Ram's mpg - the tire size and speedo accuracy.

I was enjoying about 12 mpg when I got my 01 Ram a few months ago.
Just recently got a GPS unit, and tried it out in my truck around town. The nice thing about GPS devices is their accuracy. The speedometer feature on the GPS showed a 4 mph difference compared to my dash gauge. So, in essence I increased my mpg to 14, with no mod !

I get between 13-16 MPG depending on how much of it is on the highway. Straight highway driving will net me about 17 or 18. I have 285/75/16's on it with stock 3.55 gears and no lift. 4x4 extended cab and 8' bed. 5.9L engine.

Thought about doing new cat back exhaust and cold air intake, but rear differential is shot and it's going to chew up my mod money.

99 SPORT Std cab 6' bed 5.9. My usual tire size is 265/70/16. And on 89 octane im pullin roughly 12/13 mpg mid grade or high octane i get 13/14 mpg. octane booster additive 14.23 mpg. i dont get it higher octane less fuel consumption. But i put on some Goodyear Wrangler MT/R 315/70/16.....guess wut happened to gas milage.....10-11mpg. Wont do that again till i save more money for gas.

it is the added weight of the tire that's hurting you plus your gearing is now off. did you compensate for the speedo change?
