Miles per gallon- What are you getting?
Look at it this way.
When regular gas was 1.00 per gallon, and prem was 1.20, you had to get 20 percent better for it to be worth it to run prem, but now, with it being 2.20 for reg, and 2.40 for prem, you only hafta get about 9 percent better for it to be worthwhile. Mine gets 15 percent better mileage on prem, so I run 93 octane

I have a 2001 sport ext. cab short bed 4x4 with the 5.9 and a cap. It has flowmaster 2.5" dual catback and intake. Before the mods I got about 9.7 now I get about 10.6 in the city and up to 14.1 on the highway. Towing two 800lb jet skis and the trailer on the highway is around 12.5.
i'm getting 17.5-18mpg on the highway and it drops to about 15mpg around town (that might have something to do with me being a lead foot in town).
extractors and hardtop are about the only things i can think help

98 extended cab, short box, 4x4, 5spd, 5.2 w/ a gutted cat and flowmaster to 3" single out. I clean my TB and injectors quite often and get about 16 mpg mixed and 18-19 on nothing but highways. I used to get 18 mixed, but I added 33's to the truck and sacrificed a little mpg.
