2001 Dashboard Cracks
My dashboard is now not even a dashboard. All the jagged edges are more like shark's teeth. Completely pathetic in that Dodge totally denies any wrong doing in the matter. I took my truck in for a sweet deal on an oil change and asked the service rep if he'd heard any new news on the dashboard issue and he just looked at me and laughed and shook his head. That was really a nice warm feeling. I love my truck but there is no way in hell I would buy another Dodge if they don't fix this.
put a 95 dash in ur trucks
mine hasnt cracked its been armour alld and siliconed sprayed all its life
my dash seems to be pretty tough ive hit it many times wether it be my hand or with people hitting it when i hit the brakes lmfao (they chosenot to wear seatbelts)

Here's what I did about it:

Put it to good use if you need it.

Add another winner in the dashboard lottery. Everything was fine until I got back from Iraq. I thought maybe it was the desert heat from being stationed in CA, but apparently not.
I've called the 800#, spoke to a dealer, filed a complaint with the BBB and Safercar.gov. I went to NTSB and ended up at the NHTSB site and when I clicked the link to file a complaint about my automobile, it linked back to safercar.gov.
So now I guess it's back on the phone with dodge and see if I can be one of the lucky $50 co-pay guys...
Anyone else in the Camp Lejeune area with the same problem???

And another. When I bought mine used it was cracked. Has a good 6 cracks in it that span the entire dash board. its on my list of things to fix. first is the messed up power window switch. then the non working heater, then I'll worry about the dash
Might as well toss my hat in too. My 2001 had large cracks through the dash at only 30k miles. (Dealer replaced for a hefty fee.) I've got one of those carpet covers over the new one now. So far so good.
Do all of you guys live in the same area? I live in Alberta Canada, and at the used truck dealership I work at I dont remember ever seeing this problem. We do have a colder climate, I wonder if thats what saves them.
Mine is just straight up gone. Bought it with some pieces already pulled out, but most of these I pulled from sitting below where they USED to be attached. Dashmast covers it alright, but I'd really like to have a real dash.
Need proof?

Yeah.
