armor all actually adds to the chances of your dash cracking.
Yea, I don't buy that. Every vehicle I've ever been around in my family has had armor all used on it. My dash gets it every 6 months and sets outside all the time. If armor all actually caused damage, it would have happened to mine by now.
that's just what i've read in a few different places. its something about a chemical that used to be in it being bad for plastic that sits in the sun a lot.

It's a canard. I had a CPSC rep that came to my home about a defective plastic lawn mower gas tank, joked with him about all the excuses with the dashes in the Rams. He categorically told me that ArmorAll, or any other protectorant, would have no effect on the inherent stability of the plastic.
The best answer I was able to track down was the use of "non-virgin", ie recycled, materials in the mix percentage combined with a too low casting temp to compensate.
so i guess i was conned into believing the widespread myth about armor all along with many other people.
Depends on who you hear it from. A fellow Ram owner who tells you ArmorAll was the cause is not conning you, if it's a dealer or company that tells you that however ...
i used armorall for almost 15 years on the same dash...bout 2 or 3 times a month. i only have one crack...and i did that years ago (stupid me got mad and hit it...lol).
if its bad for you...armorall sure has a lot of people fooled.
My 2001 ram 1500 quad cab dash is broken in several places and cracked in others. Let me know if you decide to go after Chrysler on this. Otherwise truck has been pretty good.
