I have been redoing my truck and just couldn't talk myself into dropping the cash for the OEM parts. I do not like the covers and the clips are broken off from the bezel so it would have to be replaced. The wive told me to get it fix since I have redone the rest of the truck so I am going to order them here in a day or two.

Didn't people with 2000-2001 Rams start getting the cracks around 2003? Mine started cracking in either 04 or 05.

My 98 had no cracks, (160K)I sold it to a guy with a 2001 last year (we both installed it without removing the entire dash) and it still has no cracks. The 98 never had any chemicals on it to clean it, except for over spray from cleaning the windshield and wiping it off. That truck was a DD and outside all year round, I never beat on the truck. My 2000 also has no cracks,(80K) and it is a plow truck, beat on by the PO plus towing.

The 01 I just sold last month never cracked and my 99 made it till late 09 to start cracking but went down hill fast. Had about a six inch hole fall out in the summer and I can here it cracking about ever time I hit a pothole or speed bump. A large section, about a foot wide from the windshield all the way out to the radio bezel, came lose on my drive home today. Going to order new dash and bezel tomorrow.

When mine first caved, I ordered a dashcap from these guys:

I used a coupon code the guy gave me and it took 10 bucks off since he gave it to me over the phone. If you type THANKYOU at checkout in the little box, it always still works! I order a bunch from them for my lot.
