Default another dashboard claimed!

Ok, I know I am probably going to get blasted for not searching this but I did. There is about 3000 posts to go through. I recently have developed cracks in my 2000 1500 dash and was searching online for possible solutions to repair or replace and I came across http://www.dashcoversplus.com/site/1427228/page/864510 and wanted to know if anyone has tried this. It appears to look good and they have an installation video on you tube that makes it look fairly easy to install too. Any help is appreciated.

Okay, go to LMC truck website order you a new dash, and get a carpet like cover that goes right over your dash, i think they only cost around $30-50 bucks depending on who you get it from.

I am merging this with the most popular of the dashboard threads. No reason to create a new thread for a topic thats already been beat to death.

I just ordered my replacement cap from DashCoversPlus. Its fairly inexpensive shipped about $160. For those of you who dont have enough dash left to cap they also offer replacement dashes for around $400. I will post a pic when I install it so you can see how flush it fits. I hope it looks good, but its gotta be better then looking at cracks.

My concern is having such a cracked dash piece where a portion of the passenger side airbag is attached to, what happens when the airbag is deployed with a cracked dash? How many pieces do you think could be thrown about the cabin space.

Dodge owners who would like the government to know about your case, they are urged to click Safercar.gov and file a complaint.

Hey guys. So I had the same problem in my 01 ram 1500 and I was outraged. Obviously Dodge has no intention to do anything about it but I found a solution. Down here in Florida cracked dashes are a dime a dozen and a company in pompano actually makes replacements! Not covers an actual replacement. I purchased it and it was easy to put on just remove the old dash and it comes pre drilled and primed with a uv protectant on it. They also guarantee it for life!!! I've had it in my truck about a year now and I have had no problems. The company is called Plastic Parts, Inc. They have a website.

I used a $ 160.00 or so cover on my 98 Ram, fit was fine, but I also used polyurethanve construction adhesive to fasten it down, not the silicone it came with.

Dodge won't do squat about it although half the internet is people posting about cracked dashes in their Rams.

I just put a new dash (used, but crack free) and it cracked within 3 weeks. Only about a 4 inch crack, but still it sucks since the time I wasted replacing it.
