Same Story...

'01 2500 with NO dash AT ALL! Almost completely gone, ash tray fell out, just waiting for the glove box and drink tray to fall too. I threw a cheap dash mat on it to try and stop some of the shrapnel if my airbag goes off...

ADD ME TO THIS LIST! Suddenly dash started cracking all over the place! Has anyone found a decent dash cover or solution? How much are the dealerships charging now for the dashes? I see lots of complaints, but few results/solutions that have worked out. Can others please post what they have done to try to fix this problem??

Man.... I was just going to trade this truck in too!

Now I am thinking I may go with a FORD this time around. Chrysler..... needs some woopin.

Add another one to the list - me. Same story, just started one day and within a few months - gaping holes and crevices. Had it replaced (but did not go to Dodge for the service as they won't ever get any of my $$$ again). Can't believe they won't admit this defect/design error and cover under warranty. No other dash on any car ever has done this. My loacl news station, www.local6.com just did an investigation here in Florida (on 4/30). Maybe the media can help. If you have this issue, go to their website and let them know. If they realize how large this issue is, maybe Dodge will step up to the plate. This site also tells you how to file a complaint (but their link to the website is wrong - (think it should be safercar.gov, not safecar.gov). All Dodge pickup owners with this bad dash need to rally together.

Default Cracked Dashes on the news

Saw this on another site and wanted to make sure that everyone here knew about this as well.

I am not making any promises. Yesterday one of our fellow 3rd gen Dodgers was nice enough to put up a link regarding our cracked dashes on a news program in Florida. I went to the site and watched the video. After watching it I decided to write the newscaster and inform him that there are more than a handful of us that have this cracked dash issue. He took the time to write me back and is asking that everyone that has this issue write to him and he will then contact Dodge on our behalf. The news story goes on to say that the cracking and collapsing dashes are considered a safety issue. I am willing to take this chance for a free dash and I am asking you to do the same. Take a few minutes out of your day and write to this guy letting him know how old the truck is, what part of the country you live in and other information you think will be helpful. I mean it guys, your one letter could mean the difference between getting all these dashes fixed or being forgotten about it completely. I am trying to make this as easy as possible so it wont take you any longer than necessary and I know the easier something is the more likely you are to do it. Having said all that, I have included the link to the original news story and a link to the newscasters email address. PLEASE dont let this go, do it right now before you forget about it. Thanks and here is to hoping something finally gets done.

That news cast makes me sick...
The problem with the lights, and speaker are a completely different issue.

Im sorry, but I dont see the issue here... replace it, its not that big of a deal
People need to stop whineing about nothing.
