i would do like dodgepwr the part number would get you all the info you needed just look under the truck if the shocks are black they are more than likely factory if they are any other color than that it either means they replaced the shocks or got a lift for it in which case it would be best to just get the part # like he said

I'm gunna do the shocks and stabilizer at the same time. should I keep the same brand all around? Whats the best bang for the buck?
Are KYB shocks good? Do stock 2500's have lift blocks on the rears between the axle and leafs? Stock height is 77.1, thats to the roof of the cab correct?

I consider KYB shocks to be cheap junky shocks, but thats just my opinion.
I had a set of Monroe Gas Magnums, and the rear was stiff enough for me (especially unloaded), but the front was to mushy. Put some RS5000 (Rancho) shocks up front, and nice and stiff like I like it now.
Edelbrocks get mixed reviews, depending on a person's preferences (nothing wrong with the shocks themselves, not that I've heard). I have yet to see any credible person go against Bilsteins, only reason I didn't grab a set is the price and I got the RS5000s locally.

On my 5.2, I went from RS9000s to RS5000s. The RS9000s were completely SHOT. They were doing nothing. But they were about 70K old. I probably drove them for about 20K when they should have been changed.
