I was out there poking around with the multimeter trying to figure out my other electrical issue and checked into the amp a little too.
I believe there is a problem with the amp.
The voltage at the battery is 13.41 when the subs aren't hitting and it drops down to 13.36 when they hit hard.
The voltage at the amp is 13.34 when it isn't hitting hard and dropped as low as 12.26 when it is. That is with the positive probe on the power wire where it is connected to the amp and the negative probe on the ground wire where it is connected to one of the rear seat bolts.
My CD player has a setting for the amount of power that goes to the amp (1-15 is the range) and it has a setting to turn the amp on or off.
When I turn the amp on or off, it stays on.
The setting for the amount of power to the amp does work though.
The light on the amp is off even though the amp was on.
The last time I had the amp cutting off issue I went through the radio and turned off the amp and it turned on, then when I turned the amp on it turned off.
Man, WTF...
Looks like I'll need to do that bench test, I'm glad you said something about that, I didn't know there was a way to do that.

Eh, check the space behind your seats before ordering that. I know when I had my two 10"s in there it was a tight fit and the storage bins had to go.
As far as what subs.... How much do you want to spend? What kind of amp do you have? Do you need to buy the amp as well?
The really big question there is just how much do you want to fork out for the system. It's like racing. All amounts to how much money ya got.

To be tell you the truth I don't know anything about sound systems. Hoe do you recommend to hook up the speakers? I don't know how much to spend I don't want so buy junk I want something that will sound good. And my head unit is 65Wx4 if that is what you wanted to know.
PS: The head unit is a DVD player with a flip out 7 inch screen

If this were my truck, I would wire up your four door/wall speakers to a four channel amp, and then run the woofers on a two channel amp depending on needs.
You also have to remember that up until about three weeks ago, I had over $2000 invested in my audio.
What brand is that deck? Model number? What I'm looking for is the RMS ratings and that usually is not listed on the front faceplate.
Since you're not all that into audio, I would think that you wouldn't have to mess with converting the front speakers to a 6 1/2". The factory size being 6X9.
Look at Infinity Reference speakers. I know of a few people who ran them off of an AM deck and love them.
If you want to totally outfit your truck, then take a look here:
Front Speakers: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Infinity...&skuId=9896954
100W RMS 6X9- $189- You can find them cheaper
Rear wall speakers: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Infinity...&skuId=9896854
45W RMS 5 1/4 (Factory size)- $99.99- You can find them cheaper.
Amplifier for the four: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu..._MRP-F300.aspx
50W RMSx4- $157.00- Pretty decent price
Woofers: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...SWR-1243D.aspx
Up to 600W RMS- $147.00 X 2
Amp for woofers: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...CPT1-1500.aspx
500W RMS @ 4ohm- $145.00
Total- $884.99
*Need to add in around $70.00 for wiring.
