So we're talking about Steve Meade of Steve Meade Designs? And he's FarmBoy's boy? I thought he was talking about some local yokel who just happened to have a common enough name. Facepalm time for me.

Hey hey hey. I learned everything I know about going fast from Keith Black. Yeah, yeah, really. And I have the sticker to prove it. And automatic transmissions? Oh yeah. Art Carr, baby!

Yeah im pretty sure farmboy just saw him on youtube. Although he does use rockford amps. 20,000 watts of them to be exact but im sure he is running a very high end line of rockfords. Of course their amps are fairly decent.

If I was going to rec a good entry level system to anyone I would steer them towards Diamond Audio. I have been running their products for about 5 years now with nothing but great performance. Their basic D1 series will blow alot of their competitors out of the water. For the quality and price you can't beat them in my mind. My last setup was with two Diamond D3 10's with a diamond D3 1000watt (true 800rms) and they hit harder and lower than most 12 even 15 inch systems. They get as low as 25hz. Thats ground pounding.

Yea, I was just gonna let that Meade picture go... Glad someone else capitalized on it. I don't dislike Fosgate products, but it's like I've said many times, you can build a system from their components and certainly win in competition, but once you win, you might as well pull around back and dump all the stuff in the dumpster.

I've not had a lot of experience with Diamond, but I have heard good things. I'm actually looking at going Hertz on my next build for the door speakers. Unsure on my woofers yet.

Another thing that people tend to forget about, including me, is that everyone hears things differently. I tend to lean towards Infinity and brands like them just for the way they reproduce sound. I've seen people that LOVE their Dual speakers. Sounds like junk to me, but if you're happy, then who cares? I really try not to tell people to go listen to speakers in the store just because I can guarantee you 100% that they wont sound that good in your vehicle. It's not happening. Oh well.

Never heard of Hertz before just got done doing a little google research and they dont look too bad. def good price.

I always ran Diamonds Hex doors. Not really a big selection on sizes but if you can get them to fit they are amazing. IMO

will cost you a pretty penny though

Well, yea, I know Diamond costs a bunch, but I don't think I get that insane. Three amps in my last build was almost at my limits. (all in my RC too)

Hertz is kinda like Polk in the fact that they got their name in the audio business in home based systems first. I have seen and heard a few of the Hertz systems running around in town, and I've been impressed. I wasn't overly impressed with their woofers, but that's not that big of a deal. I'm picky in that aspect anyways. The only bad thing is that I'll have to order them in as no one in town handles them. Not a big deal, but still a hair puller on getting a deal on them. Hell, I only paid $20.00 a piece for my Eclipse woofers four years ago. Which brings me to my next point... You'll spend more in the long run if you build your system piece by piece. I know I did and it sucked. I added it up the other night and had I done it all at one time, I could have saved about $500 and some change. That's part of the reason why I say to build it all at once or don't do it all.

Perfectly acceptable, but here is my two cents on the matter....

H/U: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Pioneer+...&skuId=9760833

It's basically the same thing that Rob has suggested, but a little cheaper, and the face plate lights are much nicer on the eyes at night. That blue is killer to me at night.

Front Door: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Alpine+-...&skuId=8704217

Rear Wall: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Alpine+-...&skuId=8699394

Woofers: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu...SWR-1022D.aspx

Amp for door/wall: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu..._MRP-F300.aspx

Amp for Woofers: http://www.onlinecarstereo.com/CarAu..._KAC-7204.aspx

Total: $850.97

The prices on what I showed you can be bought for cheaper all over the place. I recommend that you buy them at a place that offers a warranty through both the company and the manufacturer.

What I would do in your shoes is take out what you need for wiring and put the rest to buying a dynamat or eqvilant setup to deaden the sound coming from the road, motor, and the rest of the drive train. You'll also need a box or two boxes. Doesn't really matter. Make them for less than $30.00 a piece, or buy them for around $70.00 in store.

Also, I highly recommend that once you get everything installed that you take the truck to your best rated audio shop and flip them a few bucks to tune in the system for you.

You will NOT need power wire larger than 8 gauge on this setup. I would run a 4 gauge from the battery and then T them off going into each amp. Since you have the infinity system, I feel that it would be easier to just simply run new wire to all the speakers instead of trying to fuddle your way through the factory setup on the truck.

One last thought: Research some of this yourself, and if you have questions about a brand not listed, then by all means post up a link to it asking. We won't flame. I might be stern if it's a really bad brand, but I won't be an *** about it.
