Default '98 Dodge Ram 2500 Diesel - AC Stuck on Defrost

Vehicle: '98 Dodge Ram 2500, 5-speed manual, 2 WD Quadcab, diesel, 24-valve, 313,000 miles

Problem: AC coming out of defrost vents when set on AC or any position

Suggestions??? Some sort of vacuum problem???

Yep, vacuum problem. On the passenger side, towards the center, on the firewall, there should be a couple vacuum lines, one disappears back into the cab of the truck, that one supplies vacuum for the vents to operate. On der diesel, I have no clue where it would get its vacuum source from......

Solved my problem today. Found that the vacuum line had fallen down on the exhaust & burned in two. I picked up a short piece of hose from AutoZone...about 4"....and they didn't charge me. I squared off the ends of the burnt hose & used the hose from AZ as a splice by sliding it over the to two ends. Hooray...AC working normal now!
