Cleaning diamond plate toolbox
So I got inspired by the OP to do a cleaning session on the toolbox. It need it really bad! dakotasram, the HD rubbing compound worked okay, but was taking forever...so I tried sum blue magic polish that I use to cleanup my polished aluminum wheels and worked fantastic! Check out the results below!
Also ran out of polish, so I still have to finish the front side tomorrow, but managed to complete the top part.

Wow that looks great, I've got some blue magic with me. Project for the weekend? I think so! Does anyone know where to get the lid shock things so mine will quit falling on my head?
Advance or Auto Zone outta carry replacement shocks. Give them a call and find out, I doubt that they wouldn't carry shocks. If you can't find them there, Tractor Supply, Home Depot or Lowes should be a good alternative to find them. They run about $10 - 15 bucks per shock if I'm not mistaken...The blue Magic is truly magic! And a little polish does go a long ways on our diamond plate.
Sweet, I'm glad you used that stuff. I have it laying around out in the garage and I've only used it for the bumpers (works great on them too), wasn't sure if it worked on aluminum. My truck isn't anything pretty to look at but my toolbox, I think, makes it so much worse to look at. You can't see any reflection in it at all as it's almost a grey color. At least it's held up this far in 10 years though so I can't complain too much.
haha lol. I know what u mean. Mine was a nasty grey that looked like the color of boiled chicken.
Looks much better now, got that mirror shine back! And yeah that blue magic serves many purposes. Wheels, toolboxes, diamond plate, bumpers, anything aluminum. And it is also rated #1 by consumer digest. Well I can't disagree with them, the best polish I've ever used on aluminum. And I have been through alot of products....
Okay guys. I'll tell you what NOT to use. Don't use bleach or turpentine. There was a bunch of paint on this toolbox I'm going to sell. I tried to scrub the paint out, but it wasn't coming off. So without really thinking of the consequences, I dumped some turpentine on it to get the paint off. BAD IDEA! It took this layer of plastic coating off of the toolbox. I had no choice to continue to scrub the layer off of the whole toolbox. Bleach just didn't do anything so don't waste your time. In conclusion, don't buy this toolbox i'm posting on craigslist.

You have a black truck. Just my opinion/taste but you should have a black tool box. I'm not done with my truck yet, and yes it is green (but a dark color). When I'm done it will be green and black.
