Default Cleaning diamond plate toolbox

Anyone ever cleaned diamond plate before? I want my toolbox lookin shiny and new again but I'm not sure how to go about doing it. Would good old metal polish work?

rubbing compound works like a charm, im sure just about any polish will since its usually just fairly light surface oxidation

i used something in a silver round can from wally world (can't think of the name). That stuff was way to oily. I have used mothers polish for years... and even with the power ball takes frickin forever to do a toolbox, and even then it isn't "brand new". I began looking for something a little better and ran across "gords aluminum polish" on the internet although I have never pulled the trigger. It would be nice to revive mine. But the time to outcome isn't worth it in my case. I need to find some industrial strength stuff... melt right through the toolbox lid.

Flitz about once a year keeps mine big time shiny. Toolbox and diamondplate at over 5 years old:

So use rubbing compound or some stuff called flitz? I have some turtle wax compound laying around....might be worth a shot. But isn't there an actual product made for cleaning diamond plate that you get get in any auto store?

It is deeply oxidized and I think it's gonna take some heavy duty elbow grease to get it looking sharp again. Will regular 'polished aluminum' cleaner work on a 10 inch orbital? Basically I need to know what is a really good cleaner or polish to use on this project....Open to suggestions fellas! THX

Mines got about 10 years of oxidation on her. It's so old it likes to fall on my head when I open it. First I need to buy some new lid shocks and then I'll tackle the cleaning. Thanks for the info fellas.
