I was about to suggest a Ranchhand guard (like mine ) but I went to the site and it said 98-02 excludes Sport series. Ugh.

Only reason one of them bull bars like above wont fit is cause of how far the bumper sticks out.

 

Take a look at my build thread, if that is the bull bar, grill guard whatever you want to call it. It will bolt up. It says it will not work for the sport package but it does. They just put that there because to them you are not supposed to bolt it to a plastic bumper which is really all the sport model is, just a painted plastic bumper. Hell all I did was take 4 bolts and bolt it to my bumper and booya. I got mine from JCwhitney, fits 94-01 rams. I bought that WAAAAY before I even had my black truck, I bought it for my 85' which oh by the way the front is wider on the 1st gen's then the second gen's. Now my truck is a 96 yours is newer but like I said I had one of those mounted to my 85 with a weider front bumper, and now to my 96. Fits like a charm.

Legendkiller your front bumper is a regular bumper just all painted the same color as the rest of the truck, If he is getting an offroad edition it has to be 99-01 which is also the same years that they changed the sport bumpers to be completely different from the regular bumpers.

Most companies just write does not fit sport because they dont know any better or care to take the time to notice the years it changes, 98 and older vehicles sport or not, have the same bumper design and will accept regular bull bars etc...

If you wanted to keep the brushguard you have you should be able to bolt it right up and will have to trim the bumper cover to fit it

Haha, I dont know how I found another Off-Road... with the Sport package also. I personally think its hard to find this combo(or just the Off-Road, or just the Sport). Especially one that hasnt been beat to ****, or have low miles, like mine..

So, I have to cut into my bumper to make it fit? I dont want to do that lol I might as well just keep it the way it is, although I bet a bullbar would look pretty sick on her...
