The ought-six is one of the best rounds ever made. Gotta love it.

Think they'll let me have the rifle if I beat you to the garage and find it first?

I bet they would let you have it haha. Good luck though, it's a jungle in there.

I'll be passing through Phoenix some time next month...

If it's not got rodents, feral cats, raccoons and scorpions living amongst piles of crap piled to the ceiling joists, it's in better shape than my father's garage. So it might be worth a shot!

Hahaha that awesome! Good luck with that!

As far as I know, none of those things are there, but you never know! I might hit the jackpot!

They tell me that this rifle was my grandfathers, and that he's had it and hunted with it since at least the seventies; then he got rid of all his guns in the nineties or so. And then around '05 one of them made its way into the garage accompanied with a huge load of ****. Or so I'm told.

With my luck, I'll go through the whole place and it won't be there.

Maybe it's just a ploy to get the garage cleaned?

Yeah, I've had that in the back of my mind the whole time.

Wouldn't surprise me. But apparently the other place that it could have been at was already cleared out.

Do none of y'all have a .270? I see it hasn't been mentioned yet.
The way I see it, if it'll shoot through a 1/2" thick steel plate at 30 yards then a moose hide/heart/head wouldn't be an issue.

.270 is way too light for a moose.

.270 is perfect for deer at a short to midrange shot, not for anything much bigger or to far away
