Ok I've tried the key dance for both the codes and to turn on/off the PDL on my truck with no luck, but they both work on my buddies 01. I showed him the power lock trick like a year ago, turning his auto lock feature on (y'know, locks the doors when you start moving)... Well he just informed me a few days ago it's still on and he hates it lol. He wants me to turn it off, but I can't remember how it goes, is it on/off 4 times then hit lock button? And how the heck do I disable it again? He says the 4X key cycle doesn't work....

Tried to search, but 'key' is too short. And it turns out there's not a lot of talk about 'dance tricks' on the ol DF

 

Everything I find says, cycle ignition Four times, (ending with ignition On) and hit the switch to unlock the doors. Truck should beep at you...... or something, to let you know it worked.

 

And probably won't work on a your 98 Maxx , I know it doesn't to get the codes.
