Awesome, thanks for the measurements.
When I get around to making one I'll be able to use my Sonys again. When I have them in the truck I can't put the back seat down at all, those boxes are huge.

Do you have any ports in that box?

It is completely sealed. I looked into a ported box but if I put one in it would have taken up my whole back seat. I still need the sitting room so it wasnt an option.

The box needed to be bigger for a port? I think just blowing a hole in the portion over the trans tunnel, about four inches in diameter, would allow the air BEHIND the speakers to move too.... give you more of a kick in the back.

The local shop said for it to sound its best with vented it needed to have a bigger box and the hole had to be tuned because the acoustics in the bass or something. That sounded like to much work for me sense I wont pay them to do it. I kinda want to drill a hole in it now to see what it would do...

Default MDF thickness?

I know I shouldn't reopen a 3 year old thread.. but after searching for a bit, this is exactly what I want to build, but I am curious as to what the MDF thickness was so I can calculate the volume cu in.
