Glad you like the new job, but 120 foot masts on a fishing vessel? I think you have been "smoking" way too much. There is no way that the mast on boats that size is anywhere near 120 feet.

$14 an hour, thats cool. Any health insurance or benefits? If your climbing mast that high and you have a wife, you better have some type of workers comp/ health insurance.

thats what my boss said..."you know that thing is like 120 feet, you and me are the only ones that dare to go up there."

so yes it might be shorter, but i know for a fact its higher than a 3 story building (i live on third floor, and i was higher than that)

lol im the same after i smoke, it only relaxes me, i really dont get "high" anymore

A 3 story building is about 36 feet. Thats probably more like it. Im a merchant mariner, I work on ships for a living. Changing mast lights is part of the job, although most of the newer ships have collapsable masts.

If you smoke while you are on the pole, does that make you a
pole-smoker?

Sorry dude, couldn't resist,

lol....its 47 feet, its a big boat.....past 2 days i got 19 hours, and work tomorrow....going to have a nice little chunk of cash this friday....

its awesome..my job is the greatest...im getting use to it...my bones have been very sore the past few days, but im getting use to it....

almost done the boat we are on, and the owner of the company says hes already got me lined up for another boat next week, and we have one after that...so i have a good 2 months of work ahead of me....and they ar in the process of getting new contracts so there will be more...

its a lot of work, but i work with 2 of my friends and one other guy whos cool, so it works out....nobody cares what you do, as long as the job gets done.

If the job gets done in a timely manner, and done right the first time, nothing else should really matter.
