New Auxiliary Reverse Lights
an engineer was driving down the road one day and noticed a farmer holding a little pig up to an apple tree, letting it eat the apple directly off the branch. he stopped and watched in amazement as the farmer wasted about an hour feeding the pig about a dozen apples. he got out of the car and said to the farmer - if you'd build a ramp up to the branches of the tree, then the pig could walk up there and feed himself, and it'd save a lot of time. the farmer shook his head and said - what's time to a hog.
i have a wiring question. if i just added a switch just to turn them on manualy but still have them go on with the stock reverse lights couldnt i just add a switch into the 86 terminal(switch) of the relay and keep the stock reverse light wire in that? so basicaly on they are on off they will only go on with the reverse lights?

I would think you will back-feed to the transmission possibly causing a problem with the sensor's in the trans.
You could run another relay and tap in to 87, or install a diode in the reverse wire to prevent power from going backwards to the trans.
I did something similar on the back of mine, but made it removable so I could swap it between my truck and my Jeep.
It will work as auxiliary reverse lights with my switch off and as a set of lights I can turn on to be able to see to do things behind the truck when turned on.

I mounted a simple swith (disregard the yellow arrow, pic was to show someone where I mounted the valve for my air bags):
