. Thanks again. This site has been big help since ive been on it.
Well, looked at summit and theyhave m1's. Seems as though i'd have to switch to carburated and thats not gonna happen. Is the hughes FI mean fuel injected. Id like to know more about this plenum situation if possible. Im staying fuel injected. links to these products woud be greatly appreciated! thanks!
This is the M1 manifold. Is a bolt on part. keep in mind, being a single plane manifold, your bottom end grunt is going to suffer for it.
The hughes manifold is dual plane, so, you still lose a bit of bottom end, but, not nearly so much as the M1.
On the bottom of the stock intake, there is a steel plate that seals the bottom of the plenum chamber. From the factory, these were a bad plan, poor quality gaskets, thin steel plate against an aluminum manifold, with bolts that were a tad to long to hold it in place.... A problem just waiting to happen.
Cheapest fix is just replacing the gasket, and using shorter bolts. Best fix is doing that, along with the hughes aluminum plate. Going to the hughes, or M1 intake, completely eliminates the problem.
