mod ideas.
Depends on what your trying to do & what your willing to spend.
Checking that kegger to make sure the plenum isnt leaking is good advice as mentioned
Gears can help performance a fair bit, though not cheap.
52tb can be a bit big for a 5.2, will cost low end torque & it wont be as fast off the line & hurt performance if you tow.
If you added some other changes to the mtr itself then maybe, for now Id leave it.
K&N cai is ok but semi limits performance off the line.
Could add a larger filter on the end of it. (I only use K&Ns)
The ramairbox from www.ramairbox.com gives much better performance than the K&N cai. (using K&N e1650 14x3" filter inside)
But if you offroad & drive dirt roads better off leaving the cai on.
1.7rr will give a bit of hp/trq from idle to redline.
I would remove the Jet StgII chip, they tend to cost hp/trq not increase it.
If you can find one for your year truck the MP PCM will give a 5.2 25hp/26trq increase.
Cant find an mp pcm then B&G chrysler can reflash the pcm & give similar gains (or more) but you have to send the pcm to them.

RAM TOUGH
One step at a time is good, lets you see what is helping & what isnt.
HS non adjustable 1.7rr can be installed without changing anything else & will not cause clearnace issues with stock valve covers IIRC.
Air filter
Measure the tubes dia & how much room you have from where the back (tb side) of the current filter is to the front of the engine compartment.
Before you order or buy from O'Reillys remove the current filter, note how far forward you have to go before it comes off the tube. Subtract that plus another 1" from the max distance you have so you can get the new filter on/off for cleaning. Otherwise may have to cut the tube back to get the filter on
If all else fails, Summit is the best place to find parts
Can cross reference what they list to what O'Reilly's has on the shelf

even if the motor was rebuilt, the plenum is probably still shot...its a factory defect and can only be fixed by a new Hughes FI Intake, M1Intake, or if you buy a plenum kit from Hughes or APS precision.

Disabled cat, so either gutted or deleted I would assume
Also its a 95, not 96 or newer so he is OBDI, not OBDII, SCT wont work for him.
B&G or MP PCM only options
