Home Depot Run
36 bundles of roofing shingles. 80 lbs per bundle. = 2800+lbs in the back of the truck today. She wasnt happy but she did the job. Thank god its only a 2 mile trip on all back roads (30mph). Had to do 2 of those runs. Ive had the back loaded with logs before and she didnt sit as low as it did today.
In other news, the roof is almost done. Ahh the joys of home ownership. Saved a ton by doing it myself with some friends. Lowest estimate I got for a complete rip down to the rafters, new plywood and new shingles was $10,500. Doing it myself total cost $4,800.

I just did that myself about a month ago, except my shingles got delivered
I did have to haul 2600 lbs of old roof to the landfill though
I have a family member who does roofing, and we had made a deal that he would do my roof in exchange for a Jeep Cherokee that I have haha.... I had to buy the materials still though of course

I would love to do some suspension work, but honestly the truck isnt worth the investment. Shes just a work truck that has already seen her better years.
Sounds like a good project. I always try to do everything myself, its the only way things get done the right way, plus I dont have the budget to pay people to do everything. I dont mess around with electric, but just about everything else I will do or learn to do.
I wish I could have got delivery, but Home Depot couldnt deliver on short notice. Would have been nice to have them come in a boom truck and drop it on the roof. Carrying bundles up a ladder sucks! I did spring for a dumpster, so no hauling away for me.

Electrical and plumbing are pretty much the same thing. You are just "plumbing" for a different kind of flow. Principles are all the same.
I worked in construction when I was in college..... started with a hole in the ground, was done when we moved folks in. That was fun. Paid well, enjoyable work, but, not exactly capable of that kind of thing any more.....

We're redoing our entire house, top to bottom, by ourselves. Gutting the entire thing down to the rafters and wall posts. LOL
