Ems makes a kit that replaces the unit bearings with actual rollers and locking hubs. And the cost is art the 1100 dollar mark.

The sad part is that most of the componets used are off the shelf pieces that have been "scienced" together to make the kit. So anyone with lots of time and a well stocked parts warehouse/salvage yard could come up with the pieces.
I'm told, but haven't verified that the kit also increases the axle width about 3/4 inch. But I do know that anyone running stock rims can't... or will have to have the center hole enlarged to go over the hubs.

WOW! The kits are on sale! BUY BUY BUY!

I think the spindles are re-drilled or some such to mount on the stock knuckles..... I am going to have a look at doing this when the weather gets warm again. See if I can come up with the parts from local wrecking yards.

I wonder if the Ford TTB 1/2 ton parts will fit our 44s?
