i look at yoru truck, and i see my own, very nice truck dude, i now have teh black two tone on the bottom with some red sport letters, but mine a bit more beat then yours.. lol

 

i say leave them off, they would hit when you go in the mud.. imo

^ they can bottom out and drag in extreme conditions.

i don't know how good their black powder coated ones are, but if you decide to go with chrome - consider Nasta stainless step bars, all stainless and will never rust. mine are 4 years old and look like brand new. all the chrome plated ones will rust.

Other things will hit first. The transfer case crossmember, the frame..... question becomes, which would you rather sacrifice? The nerf bars? or, your rocker panels?
