Default 98'v10 swap in a 2000' v8 ram

doing a v10 swap! v10 from a 98' was wondering if i can just plug the engine harness into my 360 v8 2000' dash gauges or do i need to take the one out of the 98' v10? any info would be great. i looked for info and it was kind of himming and hawwing on the subject. i know that they plug right in but dont know if its going to work?

Do you have a whole donor truck, or just the engine?

You need the transmission, you need the PCM, you need all the wiring (different various sensors), etc. etc. etc. The V8's 46RE will not mate to the V10, let alone handle the torque. V8 engines, even in the 2500s, were 46REs and the V10s had 47REs. (That is, of course, unless you have a manual.)

i know all about all that. The whole drive train is getting swaped along with everything i will need to complete the swap (pcm) (engine harness) (ect).i do have the the whole truck. was wondering if the dash instrument cluster would matter. if i could keep the v8 2000 dash in there i will, if i cant for some reason i would swap it from the 98' v10. so that is my question.

price was right! and the fact that the 360 has 220,000 miles & has every problem that them motors come with. cracked head, intake plenum just went,5th cylinder has weak compression. im sure if you where in my position you would do the same

with the v-10 engine harness and pcm, everything else will work, it really should be a very simple swap...
