a smoke switch fools the PCM into thinking the turbo is at peak boost, the PCM in turn dumps loads of fuel into an engine with little to no boost and WAH-LAH! loads of smoke.
its an EXCELLENT way to wreak havoc on an engine, in several ways. heavy deposits of carbon and soot will make short work of clogging an EGR (if you have one), cat (if you have one) as well as make short work of a perfectly good turbo, causing the veins to stick in a VGT (increasing lag). however i dont think the '00 cummins had a VGT.
in a cummins, you are rendering your MAP useless causing it to run like s**t. PSD switches are wired to the VGT solenoid causing the vein geometry and PCM to set for peak boost which in return accomplishes loads of lag from idle.
it also sends LOADS of unburnt fuel out the tail pipe. waist of money. its the young diesel comminites way of saying "hey look at me, my truck is sooo fast-look at all that smoke!"

You can drive tractors on the road anywhere for agricultural use (but school is not ag use) and the highschool I went to and many others (in WI at least) let students drive their tractors to school. As long as they have a parking pass it isn't an issue. I have seen students picked up from school in tractors too.

You sure changed a lot!
Oh yeah: Why'd ya drive four and a half hours to pay too much for that 2500? And what's "Agriculture Producation"?
