**VIDEO** Want to know why your plenum is blown and your truck is falling apart ?
I see no problem with drinking on there break they are allowed to do whatever they want on there own time, now Im sure chrysler has a alcohol limit and some of them might be over it, if so then that becomes a problem.
Smoking weed is illegal, so the cops can take care of that, pretty sure a random drug test will take care of them to, if chrysler has a no drugs policy, if not dont bother me.
Back before I was born they drinking and somking on the job while at work and older cars had no problems lasting a good while, and obviously they havent had a problem with the quality of work from these guys cause it wouldnt have taken a snitch and a reporter to figure this out. And if a brain surgeon had to have a beer and a hit before performing a surgery....go ahead

What a bunch of fukken idiots. This pi$$es me off to no end. I would hate to see what they would need to "take the edge off" if we had not bailed their sorry a$$es out in the first place. There is a sort of professionalism and responsibility that comes with working any job, but America has somehow forgotten whats wrong or right. I'm sorry redhead but I couldn't disagree with you more about this subject. If I did some crazy $hit like that I'd lose my job for sure.
i think the people at gm must smoke and drink way than the people at Chrysler because the vehicles that come off there assembly lines end up needing more than $10,000 in repairs before the warranty has ended which comes out of GM's pocket which came out of out of the tax payers pocket when the government bailed them out. my friends gm truck had $13,000 of work done on it which was covered by warranty and less than a month later he had the exact same problems again. the dealer ended up trading his truck for a newer one because of all the bs.
its not the pay, it's the delicacy of the job.
As sensational as it is, it wasn't news. I can't think of a place of any size where I've worked where there wasn't at least one guy working near me who self-medicated at lunchtime. People have been doing this since the Industrial Revolution, and probably since working for a living became commonplace.
Back at the factory there are folks whose minds are numb on anti-psychotic drugs and over-the-counter flu remedies. There are people who are distracted by the effects of bad marriages, recent divorces, teenagers who've gone over to the dark side, and ******* bosses and cow-orkers. There are a few witless dolts who screw up almost often enough to get fired but who are kept around because others feel sorry for them for having been born mentally deficient. There are pranksters who think it's funny to crank up the regulators on impact wrenches so some poor schmoe gets stuck extracting broken bolts.
And all of these messy, stupid, emotional, immature, addicted, and sick non-robotic humans exist throughout the supply chain.
Working with humans is a bitch sometimes. It's not news, and it's not an abnormal state. It's just life. What bothers me more is that this so-called "news" organization will cover a stupid, sensational story like this instead of taking on the truly relevant news and events that we the sheeple need to know about if we're (ever again) going to have a functional democracy. Stories like this one are run because they attract eyeballs to keep ad revenues up, while the important stuff is ignored because the advertisers don't want those things talked about.
End of rant. Thanks for indulging me. Have a nice day.

this is somewhat related.. and it's still funny even if you've seen it a hundred times..
interesting factoid: folks who habitually use narcotics can drop as much morphine as they want and can't OD.. but a person who never uses it can OD on a fairly minute amount.. strange, no?

Well **** I could go into work high, and drunk and nobody would care, I dont have policy in my contract for either, but I go sober cant afford to do the one and not allowed to drink and drive, I know a fair share of people that work in places that allow them to consume on the job and some places that the policies for alcohol go by what the state declares as drunk which in florida is .08%(a couple beers an hour).
Also was talking to a guy that works for BMW and he said that in oversea plants they have beer in the vending machines(granted they are only allowed three per 8 hour shift) they have ID cards they slide that keeps track.
And the bailout has nothing to do with the workers at the bottom, they just do there job and go home, it has more to do with the upper management and financials
