Thoughts on these gear prices...
Other then this issue, I have been very happy with it. Auburn actually has a great reputation for building a good limited slip, and I would still recommend it to someone. the only other one I think is worth a look is the Detroit Truetrac. It is a gear driven limited slip, which is supposed to be stronger then cone and clutch types, but i'm not certain if it is rated for 35" tires or not.

1700 is too much.
I paid $1600 at completeoffroad.com for gears/install kits/setup bearings (same price as an open carrier for the front) and detroit truetracs (yes that's plural).
It's all Yukon too.
If I had just gotten one truetrac for the rear then it would have been $1100.

Thanks for the info Silver.
I've read alot of threads of yours from 4:10 vs 4:56 to locker vs LSD, all have had great info, learned alot. But here's a question for you - if you could do it all over again would you go Locker or LSD?
Completeoffroad won't respond to emails. Good price though. Looked on PORC yesterday and could get everything for $1,200. (PORC install kits)
Colorado:
Would your 4:10's like 35's? Meh. It's not going to have the same get up and go as 4:56 but if you don't wheel your truck, and its just a DD then 4:10 would be ok. But if you like the loud pedal... even half as much as me, you will wish you had 4:56.
Heck dude I got a set of 4:10's I bought from a chap, but decided its worth the extra money for the right setup. Not something I'm going to look back at and say oh wish I would've went for 4:10.

If I could do it again, i'd do the same, and that's because of the way I use my truck. If someone made an air/electric locker for the 9.25, then yes I would have gone with the locker no question. But since I don't want a full time locker (which is all you can get in the 9.25), the LSD is the way I went.
I ran 35's with my 4.10's originally, and based on the fact that I now have 4.56's, I think you know how I felt about it.
If you want your truck to lose performance, then go ahead an install 35's with your 4.10's. They will work, but it will negatively impact your trucks performance.
