We are just different.
How do points work?

Also, Rhode Island is that expensive? Well, sorry to hear that, but at least its not just us getting overcharged.

I don't have any excluded drivers, didn't think that would raise the prices.

LA has counties, ya'll just call them parishes. Pretty sure you have some iteration of points too, though i may be wrong on that. Points against your license add up over the course of 3(?) years. If you get more than x amount in an allotted time frame your license can get revoked. Any moving violation (speeding, dui, running over an old lady) gives you a point.

Huh, I thought the point system was a federally enforced thing (though LA's record for implementing federal guidelines has always been a bit off). Learn something new every day.

1997- When it was on the road- $187.00 a month. Now that it's retired- $90.00 a year

2010- First three months- $247 a month. Now that a few things changed concerning my record- $94.00 a month.

Oh, I carry nothing but full coverage and my deductible is $500 per claim. I think there is a few perks involved such as free windshield replacement and like basic scratch removal or something along those lines.

I also have a $1mil umbrella coverage as well that runs me $35 a month. It's there just to save my own *** should something major happen and I end up with a lawsuit on my hands. Or in the case of a family member, drive someone's vehicle and total it...

Let's not talk about the business insurance. It's INSANE.

No, it's a con game, but that's a topic for another discussion.

pay 110 on a new expedition and a 3rd gen 4wd ram, when I added my 1997 4wd it went up 15 dollars for full coverage or 11 dollars for liability (I sprang for full coverage) I use progressive for everything and have for probably like 21yrs I think that has something to do with it? I also have the same bank for 23 years, first and only checking/savings accounts. I really think even in this day of only being a number to large companies this still matters.

I pay 110 a month for my truck, just for liability. No violations or accidents of any kind, But I'm 18. I think I do have free windshield coverage or something too, but nothing major. I can't imagine what some of my friends with 4x4s and lots of tickets have. Lol
