Default How much do you pay to insure your Ram??

I live in Louisiana which has by far the highest insurance prices.

I pay a little over $100 a month for liability only..

I have no accidents, but a lead foot.

I just put insurance back on my Ram..
My Jetta only costs $72 a month, the Bimmer is $87.

So now I might as well have a car note, with all this insurance. But I'm getting rid of the Jetta, i can't afford to insure more than two cars at a time.

Sadly I still have two more cars, awaiting restoration.. (83 Jaguar Vanden Plas/ 93 Mustang GT) Neither are in "my garage" because neither run, hell the mustangs engine won't even budge with a breaker bar, it may become a part-out...

My hobby work never ends, but its also what I get for always buying disabled cars and fixing them up... (except the Ram, I got that from a dealer, cause I needed a truck one day)

Mine is $63 a month for full coverage on the Ram and liability on the Camaro. I don't know what it is for just the truck.
Every insurance company I called when I was 19 (in 2005) told me $1200 a year for liability on my 89 Thunderbird.
Progressive wanted $2000 a year at the time. I didn't say anything, I just hung up the phone.
Then when I went calling around to all the insurance companies again a year later I was told about the same price for full coverage on my truck.
It was about a year after that when I called USAA and was quoted $500 and something a year for full coverage on the Ram and liability on the Thunderbird. After hearing the price I said, "Sign me up!".

I pay around $50/month for full coverage, but thats pretty heavily discounted because of multiple policies with the same company, safe driving, etc..

As for your locked up engine, pour some ATF down into each cylinder and let it sit for a week and try again.

I pay right at $1100 a year for full coverage, $200 deductible on my Ram and Grand Cherokee... 44 years old, only a seatbelt ticket in the last 10 years and no accidents since I was 19...

Yeah its truly sad. I hate how much insurance costs here. We are by far the most expensive state to be insured in.

I can't believe how many people pay half of what I do for Comprehensive.

I don't do full coverage because then I'm looking at $200/mo per car...

What state??

See my problem is I'm a shade tree mechanic, who likes to buy broke down cars and fix them up. I can't afford to insure them all. I just got rid of my Acura, and I still have three roadable cars.

I would love to be able to drive my cars more frequently, but as it is I keep one "nice" car for going out, etc... One commuter (for going back and forth from NOLA - baton Rouge) and from my house to the airport..(learning how to fly)

I didn't need my truck, so I had it up and took the engine and drivetrain out..
Now I need my truck, so its back together. My dad wants the BMW so he is going to get it for a retirement gift, he just don't know it yet. (Need to get him out of his Buick).

I'm going to drive the truck as a primary (picked a great time with fuel costs, but at least I'll have a car that can run 87 octane again)
And try to just have one truck and one project car.

(Mustang with locked up engine was flooded in Katrina and has sat since, it was a friend of mines car who died during the evacuation <car wreck, not storm related>) so it has sentimental value, but his Dad just let it sit. He gave it to me. But not the title. So I'm leary to put money into it yet. Though it has the chrome wheels that everyone wants, I could sell those and buy a junk engine and get working on the important stuff..
