Front bumper build
All he has done is create a flat plane across the front of the frame rails. Instead of bending itself, it will transmit the energy straight back through the frame. That is why people in the go fast community build tube bumpers that come off the frame at an angle. That way when they get smashed they have room to move, as well as dissipate the blow.
Yes, that would be 10" C Channel. and hitting anything hard enough to damage it/ the frame would be more than capable of totally the truck to begin with, so I'm really not out all that much. I didnt really want a tube bumper so I didn't build one. Anywho, here are some more pics now that we spend two days playing

WOW! aside from clearing trees and running over mailboxes, what is its purpose?
how much does it weigh?
i beleive what they're saying is that this "big hoss" bumper won't absorb any impact but rather transfer the energy from the impact to the frame.

Its good fab work, but I dont think it is safe. I could plow snow with that thing.
And then to your teeth.

I'm guessing between 150 - 200 lbs . Looks like 1/8' Checker plate and 100 lbs of 10" C Channel . That bumper will exist long past the life of the truck that's for sure . Looks Nice , but I would have to agree a little overkill with the Heavy C channel bolted direct to the frame .
