4x4 Clubs
Is anyone in one where theyre at? Im thinking of joining one. Is it worth it? What are the pros/cons? I understand a lot of them are apart of the "tread lightly" thing(I like that, considering I used to be one of those people who didnt do that haha) and a few other things... I dont know I just want some opinions?
I was in one when I had my '94 Wrangler in middle Georgia back around '97 or so. But this was during the time I was fishing bass tournaments about 3 weekends out of every month and didn't do anything with them past putting their member sticker on my Jeep, LOL...
You might be interested in the one I am in. It's called Rocky Mountain Rams. We don't actually do much because the site that we used to all chat and organize on went down for like 6 months. It's back up, but reorganizing has been a very slow process, and the price of fuel is not helping with get-togethers.
We used to do stuff like trail rides, get-togethers at restaruants (Hooters, Dave & Busters), group trips to the Mopar Nationals at Bandimere, etc.... The one event we usually always get out for is the Kids Caravan in Denver. All the local 4x4 clubs come together and do a caravan around Denver. Everyone carries new toys in their trucks (donations). It ends at an event center where the Marine Corp gathers all the toys into their trucks as part of their Toys for Tots program. The event center is full of displays, sweet off-road rigs, competitions, and lots of swag (and free hotdogs).
We honestly haven't done anything major in a year or so (except the caravan), but some of the old members are trying to stir up interest again, and we have a few newbies who have expressed interest. Might be enough to get the club rolling again. I don't think I can post the name of the forum site where we meet since it is another Dodge site like this one, but if you are interested, send me a PM and i'll get you the info.
Here's some pics I have of one of the caravans, and a trail ride we did up Kingston Peak.

Oh, forgot to mention to that there are members from all over the state (Grand Juntion, Colorado Springs, Denver, Ft Collins), and even from Wyoming. So don't worry if you are not in Denver right now, you wouldn't be the only one (I think I recalled that you where not on the front range at the moment).
